It's been a while since I last posted. No excuses, so here is something from fairly recently. This was a commission for a local book shop, they wanted a sign for their children's section and the unisex world of bugs took over1

I'm going to check out illustration friday this week, see if I can get back into the swing of it!

Illustration Friday - Extremes

Wanted to explore the extremes of our society. The rich get richer the poor, poorer - how, with all our knowledge and experience, is this still the case? We are all capable of doing something, even if you think it won't make any difference, just a smile and hello at least stops them feeling invisible.

Illustration Friday - Open

Just wanted to explore the sense of frustration that kids feel with the adult world. Really imagined this little girl hearing her mother say 'Honey, can you close the door for me' and the child standing, flummoxed by the enormity of the task ahead of her. Well that's my interpretation of Open.

Children's Book

For the past 10 months I have been working on a children's book with my brilliant partner, Paul. He has written some wonderful poems and I have been putting the words into pictures. It's been such a great experience, I've relished the challenge of illustrating someone else's thoughts and it's been refreshing putting humour into my work. Hope you like the sneak peak.

Forthcoming exhibition

As one of five members of SG5Art, I will be exhibiting at The Maynard Gallery, Welwyn Garden City, Herts. Our private view is on the 19th October and the exhibition runs until 17th November. This is a little taster of my work, please visit SG5Art.com to see the groups' work.

Illustration Friday - The Blues

Well this is my first 'Illustration Friday'. It's been a technical challenge for me, so I'm already looking forward to the next title, some creative pleasure to balance up against the blogging experience. This painting was inspired by a trip to Naxos with my wonderful man, Paul. Our beach was so beautiful and I never tired of looking at 'the blues'.
